My name is Jamel and I’m an Admissions Specialist here at Believe Detox Center. I’m often the first person families speak with when they decide to pick up the phone — and I take that responsibility seriously.

The conversation we have at intake sets the tone for everything that follows. My job is to listen first, answer questions honestly, and make sure no-one feels rushed into a decision they aren’t ready for. Detox is a big step, and people deserve to understand exactly what they’re saying yes to.

I’ve been around recovery long enough to know that shame keeps people stuck more than the addiction itself does. I try to leave that at the door so the people I speak with feel like a person, not a case.
